What is the cost of Dollar Shave Club?
The cost of Dollar Shave Club can vary based on the order. The trial products cost around $2 each, and the most popular trial kit includes three of them for $6. The Dollar Shave Club Ultimate Starter kit runs at $18 and includes a razor, blades, and products. The cost can be as little as $8.00 per month. The razors are of similar quality to Gillette and are on par with Harry’s razors, but for much less cost. The cost per razor cartridge is about $1.66 – $2.00, depending on the monthly quantity. There are also two club razor options for daily shave: four-blade and six-blade. These cost $10 per month or less for replacement blades and a one-time cost for the handle.
How does Dollar Shave Club compare to other razor subscription services?
Dollar Shave Club is one of the original razor subscription services, known for its 2012 viral video. It offers two club razor options for your daily shave: four-blade and six-blade. These cost $10 per month or less for replacement blades and a one-time cost for the handle. The Dollar Shave brand started as just a razor subscription brand and has now expanded into several lines of men's grooming products, including skincare, hair care, fragrance, deodorant, shaving, and oral care. By including add-ons such as shaving cream and gel, Dollar Shave Club, along with other shaving subscriptions, aims to offer more value than if you set up Subscribe and Save on Amazon for your favorite name-brand razor.
In comparison, Harry's focuses on quality and simplicity, offering a fuss-free experience with premium razors. It's better for those who prefer not to customize their subscription. Billie is another service that celebrates body hair and offers a variety of products.
In terms of cost and satisfaction, Dollar Shave Club's Executive (six-blade cartridge) and Harry’s Truman (5-blade cartridge) landed in the middle. Dollar Shave Club’s Humble Twin was the least expensive at 60 cents per two-blade cartridge. While testers who tried it on their bald heads liked it, this no-frills razor was the least favorite overall. The Gillette Fusion ProShield was the favorite; almost all of the testers said they would buy it. They liked it for shaving closeness and comfort, sideburn trimming, and ease of shaving under the nose. They also liked the handle’s grip and the shaving head’s angle. But it was the most expensive at $5.62 per five-blade cartridge.
In conclusion, the best razor subscription service depends on your personal needs and preferences when it comes to shaving. Whether it's customization, budget options, or quality and simplicity, each service has its own strengths.
